A Society for the Welfare of Widows & Orphans
The concept of this organization initially come to a few people of Bhopal, in the beginning of the Twentieth Century. The founder members of this organization are well versed with the Islamic Teaching and Law. They also know the present situation of Muslims in India. The first non formal meeting was held some times in Dec 1917 and the full flagged organization was incepted in the early part of the 1918. Late Syed Asrar Hasan was the first president of the society, Late Munshi Qadar Sahab was the Secretary and Late Mian Mohammad Qasim Sahab was the treasurer of the society. In all fourteen members were the office bearers. The society purely based on Islamic Principles prevalent at that point of the time at Bhopal state. This NGO is still working on the principles of Islam & helping Muslim widows & orphans particularly those who have no bread and butter earner or handicapped. The organization also helping Yateem boys and girls for study up to graduate level, are to grow with self confidence and honor. Beside this the organization is also helping poor/very - poor peoples in illness.
At present this noble task is being managed by a working committee comprising of 26 members, selected from all over the Bhopal city. The funding of this charitable work shall be performed by the amount received / collected from the Bhopal city as ZAKAT, IMDAD, SADQA and other heads. We need all the Muslims of the world to donate money generously ( ZAKAT, SADQA ) etc for the organization to help the poor people. We are providing different services to the economically weaker widows and their children. These are a follows:
1 Monthly Pension to Senior/Aged Widows: The pension amount at present Rs 200 per month. This amount is very less, compare to enormous increase in price of the essential commodities. The Anjuman is trying hard to increase the monthly pension or stipend from Rs 200 to Rs 300. At present we are paying successfully about 650 widows per month.
2 Distribution of Blankets / Indian Razai, to poor peoples. Particularly to pension holders and widows every two years time period.
3 Waqti Imdad, for economically weaker widows orphans. This assistance is to establish the young widows to engage in service activity to earn some money from the work for pulling of the family. This assistance is also utilized for medical expenses.
4 Education Stipend, for yateem/ yaseer / nadar children's of the society. This activity only performed when the amount is surplus ordinarily it is not provided. Due to lack of funds. The Anjuman is also working in this direction and try to get substantial amount from the local peoples or other persons / organizations.
5 Emergency helps, This help is provided to any body at the time of emergency as and when necessary to - do.
The annual budget for the Anjuman is Rs 24, 00, 000/- for the financial year 2009 - 2010. The major expenses were for monthly pensions to the widows. The society is expending it activities and for the financial year the budget estimates likely to go up Rs 30, 00, 000/- for the next financial year. He therefore request to every Muslim to Donate / Deposit ZAKAT to the Anjuman for the very goods work undertaken by the society. The audited accounts will be available to every body who demand for the same for this kindly send us Rs 200/- for photocopy of the account plus postage charges. The society is not having any immovable property at present. The ZAKAT, SADQA, IMDADS are send to the society at the following bank particulars.
